My Goa - St. Cruz

Hello everyone... comprising of all the above places .. i would like to mention about another small yet beautiful part of Goa, adding its my locality "St.Cruz".

Santa Cruz or Calaphur is a village-suburb of the Goan state capital of Panaji (also Panjim or Ponjje).
Santa Cruz (meaning holy cross in Portuguese) is the largest village in Goa with people residing from different religions and also from different parts of India. It is situated in the North Goa district and it is bounded northwards with Panjim, the capital city of the state of Goa, its other neighbours being the Merces village is to its west, Bambolim to its south and Taleigao to its east. This village is subdivided into 11 wards, each of which has its own individuality within the village.
Santa Cruz has several places of interest, Almacho Khuris (Souls Cross), Saint Anthony's Chappel, Char Khabbe (Four Pillars) and its disappearing Salt pans (Mithagar or Mithache agor) form a part of the reclaimed waterlogged khazan lands, which are also utilised for aquaculture, pisciculture and agriculture.
In the next post, i shall share more details on St. Cruz. Till then.... Thank You.

  1. Is Taleigo to the east of Santa Cruz or West/North West? So also what about Merces is it to the West or is it east/North East?
